Jase and Missy Robertson’s journey: Overcoming obstacles and finding strength

Mia Robertson, the youngest daughter of Duck Dynasty’s Jase & Missy Robertson, was born with a cleft lip and palate, a condition characterized by a gap in the upper lip that may extend to the gum. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately one in every 1,600 babies in the U.S. is born with this condition.

Despite facing numerous challenges due to her condition, including undergoing 13 surgeries at the age of 18, Mia remains resilient and positive. Recently, she underwent her 14th surgery, with hopes that it will be her last, bringing an end to her medical journey.

Throughout her experiences, Mia has remained an inspiration, hoping to support other children facing similar challenges. She, along with her family, established the Mia Moo Fund to provide assistance to families dealing with cleft lip and palate, aiming to ensure that every child can smile with confidence.

Jase Robertson shared on his podcast that Mia is recovering well from her recent surgery, expressing gratitude for the support and prayers from their listeners. Missy Robertson emphasized the importance of relying on faith during uncertain times, acknowledging that Mia, now 18, is taking charge of her medical decisions with their guidance.

Mia herself expressed optimism about reaching the end of her medical journey, hoping that her recent surgery will mark the final step in her treatment. Meanwhile, the Robertson family is also preparing to welcome a new addition to their family, extending their love and care to a child in need.

Wishing Mia a speedy recovery and sending support to the entire Robertson family during this time.
